CAPS Engineering Camps
Enter a world of imagination, innovation and learning by experiencing the rigors of engineering and mathematics. Students will be able to work in groups and independently on high energy and exciting engineering projects.
These 4-day camps are for students who will be in 7th, 8th or 9th grades during the 2017-18 school year. Camps 1, 2 and 3 provide a different experience, so students may register for multiple camps.
The instructor is Miles Riley.
Camp dates: Session 1 – May 30 – June 2, Session 2 – June 5 – 8, Session 3 – June 12 – 15

Explore @ CAPS
Students will learn about engineering through hands-on activities designed to make them think creatively and use problem solving skills. Campers will also experience the KU campus during a field trip to the School of Engineering labs and classrooms. Because this is a day camp, families must pick up and drop off their camper at the beginning and ending of each day. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch with them each day.

Rotary Youth Leadership Camp (RYLA)
RYLA is designed for rising sophomores, juniors and seniors who are ready to explore and develop their leadership potential. Participants visit with local Rotarians, do a self-assessment of their leadership, spend time at the Dole Institute of Politics, volunteer at local non-profits in Lawrence, KS and work in small groups on thought provoking and challenging projects. The camp is residential and is held at the University of Kansas from June 4-8, 2017. Cost per student is $325 ($300 registration fee paid by the sponsoring club and $25 application fee paid by the student). Click here for more information and to apply.
