CAPS-wide hackathon starts the year

We opened the 2018 school year with a CAPS-wide hackathon. The goal of the 2-day event was to immerse students into project work in a professional culture. The challenges were as diverse as our business partners were varied. On day-1, business partners outlined big, daunting problems. Students selected a partner, formed cross-functional groups, and worked for the remaining day and a half on solutions. Students pitched out to business partners at the conclusion of day-2. It was fast. It was furious. It was awesome!

This transformative opening to the year would not have been possible without the support of our amazing partners: 1 Medicine Consulting, Black & Veatch, Community Blood Bank, Diagnostic Imaging, Harvesters, Jewish Vocational Services, Kansas State University, McDonald’s, Overflow Storytelling Labs, Stand Up Blue Valley, T-Score (KUMC), and Tamale Kitchen.
