Sara Edekblute is a 2012 BVN and CAPS alumna. Sara attends the University of Kansas majoring in accounting. She is currently interning at Ernst & Young. Sara is a candidate in the Master of Accounting (MAcc) Program which combines a challenging curriculum with experiential learning to fully prepare graduates for the accounting profession and CPA certification.

Sara credits her time in CAPS Global Business with giving her a more in depth look at career options in business. When asked if there were things at CAPS that helped prepare her for success in college Sara said, “During my time at CAPS we had to create a business plan while also working with a team on a project. This experience helped me in college by teaching me how to work on multiple projects at the same time. It also prepared me for group projects in college and how to make sure the work gets finished. ”

Sara went on to say, “the biggest take-away from my CAPS experience was to always put yourself out there and try new things. During CAPS, you are really taken out of your comfort zone because it is very different from your typical high school learning experience. Because of this, I learned more than I would have at school and I got to take a more hands on learning approach.”
