Student Awarded Best of Show

The Linda Hall Library’s inaugural Kansas City Invention Convention, an affiliate program of The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, opened this spring. Students from around the Kansas City metro were empowered to imagine new solutions to everyday challenges. This year’s winner in the 11th and 12th grade division and the Best of Show was CAPS student Anthony Arquieta. Anthony received an $800 cash prize and a $2,500 scholarship. He will take his invention to the next level by competing in the National Invention Convention sponsored by The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan on June 24th. His winning entry is Pelokit, a device to harness energy generated by a mountain bike. Anthony has taken Law, Global Business and Innovate while at CAPS.
