Teacher Ed Students Excel at Conference

Teacher Education students on November 3rd attended the Regional Educators Rising Conference at MidAmerica Nazarene University. The students distinguished themselves on multiple fronts. Aidan White and Katherine Koplik served as the Masters of Ceremony for the opening session. Then all students participated in the competition. Those that place 1st or 2nd qualify for the State competition. CAPS Teacher Ed had 8 students advance!  The State event is in early February and we will post an update!

  • TedTalk (discussing the mental health impacts the pandemic had on our students): Katie Daniels and Sofia Sarris (BV CAPS swept the category!)
  • Public Speaking (discussing how we can address the learning gap caused by the pandemic with a focus on at-risk populations): Katherine Koplik
  • Job Interview: Caroline Humphrey
  • Exploring Careers in Non-Core Subject areas: Aidan White
  • Children’s Lit Pre-K: Madison Moravac
  • Children’s Lit K-3:Ella Ray
  • Educators Rising Moment (a speech about what inspired them to become a teacher): Gabby Gutierrez
