Tech Solutions Update

CAPS Technology Solutions students have been hard at work picking their personal passion, business partner and community outreach projects. Last week, they presented at evening showcases previewing their projects for the semester. Some personal passion projects include Coursera certification for a Data Science certificate, an application to help with proper form during exercise, a horror game in C++, an emergency preparedness VR simulation, a raspberry pi security camera and an automated sound system to startle squirrels away from fruit and vegetable gardens. Some of this semester’s business partners include Pulmonaer Analytics, Slcket, CAPS Teacher Education program, McDonald’s, Garmin, and Blue Valley Recreation. Community outreach projects range from training an audio/visual volunteer at a local mosque to programming competitions and hackathons. Five Technology Solutions students will join ten other students from Global Business, BioScience, Engineering, Digital Design and Photography and Teacher Ed to compete in the GlobalHack VII competition in St. Louis the weekend of October 12-14th. Students are hard at work making progress on all their projects and will have excellent demonstrations to share at their Final Showcase the second week in December.
