vance selected as grand award winner

CAPS Bioscience student Alexis Vance was selected as one of three Grand Award Winner at the Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair. Alexis will now present her project on the Creation of a Chitosan Scaffold for Bovine Chondrocyte Re-Differentiation at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona from May 8-13. Alexis is the first student in CAPS history to receive such an honor and the ninth student in Blue Valley District since the inception of the fair. She was also recognized as one of five “Pioneers of Science” by Science Pioneers, one of three Senior Division Winners of the United States Navy/Marine Corp Science Award, and was invited to display her poster at the Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering, and Technology.

Alexis went on to place 3rd in Material Science category at Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
